Beowulf and Scion:Hero

They've finally put a website up for the upcoming
BEOWULF film. I've squealed about this before: Neil Gaiman co-writes, Sir Anthony Hopkins in Hrothgar, Mr Beaver from Chronicles of Narnia is Beowulf, Cripsin Glover is Grendel. Oh, and Angelina Jolie is Grendel's mother.

I own 5 different translations of this poem spread across 8 books (3 copies are dedicated to the Seamus Heaney translation - 4 if you count my Norton English Literature 1 textbook).

Beowulf is awesome.

Neil Gaiman is awesome.

I am going to have a mild seizure when the opening credits roll.

Different topic: White Wolf RPGs!
I picked up a copy of the Scion:Hero core rulebook. Truth be told, I'm pretty burned on d20 and I was looking for a new system that didn't need me to build everything (like GURPS).

In Scion:Hero your character is the child of a god. It's set in the present, which gives the game a wonderful Neil Gaiman's "American Gods" feel.

More on Scion later when I have a campaign prepared.

Stardust is coming out in SA on my birthday. That is what I call a present! (Interesting, this last Harry Potter movie arrived two days before my mother's birthday, and she was most appreciative.)

I guess what I'm trying to say is bring on the mild seizures.
