[Imported from old baby blog. I'm supposed to be talking to Edith]

I cried with you when you took your first breathes. You've been breathing for 12 hours now and I still can't wrap my head around it all. You have blown my mind, little Edith. You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

Edith

She is on the way. I will broadcast at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/edith-rose-burgers

It had to start somewhere

Edith,

What I am doing isn't original. In fact, Sam and Elisabeth aren't the only children with blogs anymore. And even though you are still rolling around inside your mother, I feel it's not too early to start tapping away at this.

I don't know you yet, but I know I love you. I love how all your things have been filling up our little flat over the past months and how all we need still is you. You are going to love your orange cot and orange car seat. You know, you're lucky. We didn't have car seats when I was a baby. At least, not in Africa.

Oupa is visiting us here. "Oupa" is what I'm going to have to start calling my father, now that "dad" is officially my name. He said it was alright and everything.

Anyway, let me leave you with that. Hope to see you soon,

Love,
Dad

Pictures

Why did I promise pictures? That promise has kept me from blogging for a long while.

Later there will be plenty of pictures. For now there is just work and waiting.

Edith is due next Monday. Still no clear sign of her pending arrival. Kristina is ready to get it all over with - the pregnancy that is. We had a false alarm a couple of weeks back. Now I know how to get to the hospital and everything, so we won't have any trouble when it really happens.

Speaking of pictures, my sister has uploaded TONS of baby/childhood pictures. They are currently all over Facebook. I'm having a good time with them.

It should come as no surprise that I have a new writing project (newer, even, than The Isle of the Redmoon). The title is "Glamor." It has to do with vampirism, glamors, iron allergies and their effects on 16-year-old half-elf girls.

Hawaii beckons and I am ready. Popeyes has been fun, but it is time to leave. I have fifteen separate books to work on and a couple of Warcraft characters to get to 70 before WRATH OF THE LICH KING goes live. ALSO, I have movies to make, photos to take AND a daughter to raise. Do not mistake positioning for importance with regard to this list. Edith is replacing Popeyes. Any other time I might find knocking about will be devoured gladly AFTER everything regarding Edith has been seen to.

And speaking of Edith, I will attempt to v-blog from the hospital room using Ustream.tv - I'm not sure why I chose Ustream over Youtube.com. Please check http://www.ustream.tv/channel/edith-rose-burgers for further details. AND when I say from the hospital room, I mean after the birth. Give me some credit, people. I maybe dress like a 6-year-old, but I do have some class.
