Movie Night: Watchmen

I know everyone saw this a long time ago, but (as I have explained before) we don't get to the movies too often. The last film I watched in the cinema was "300." Going way back, I remember the first film I saw in public. It was "Lady and the Tramp." I was six. Two years later I saw "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Yes, I don't get to the theater often at all.

Watchmen was a fantastic film. The writing was good, the acting was top notch and the soundtrack was spot on. The only thing I can really fault it for is length. It doesn't really feel long, but it is. Not much of a criticism, I know, but I had to pause that thing and get up and walk around to make sure I still had the use of my legs. Oh, and Kristina thought the sex scene was too long.

I'll agree with most folks and say that Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) really stands out. His performance is horripilating. We Burgerses are looking forward to his Freddy in the upcoming Nightmare on Elm Street remake.

I haven't read the comic yet. Been meaning to, but between diapers, dinner and Derdriu I seem to have my day pretty well packed. At least we own the DVD now, so I can watch it again some night when I want some comic book excellence. Both Burgerses give it a thumbs ups! Good job, Watchmen!

EDIT: To clarify, Derdriu is not my mistress. She is my World of Warcraft character. She is a level 80 dwarf priest and she looks like a grandma. Just to be clear.
