Patch Day: Warcraft -vs- Warhammer at End Game

I can't pretend to know anything about vanilla or BC end game in WoW (got to 60 during BC and hit 70 WotLK). From what I understand, they were scary places to be, filled with constant raid calendar events and 50 DKP minuses. Things seem different with WotLK.

Derdriu did finally get to level 80 and now she's enjoying bits of what that entails. I switched professions back to engineering. That seems a pretty common thing to do and it sure keeps a dwarf occupied collecting ore all over Azeroth. When that gets boring, I've got the priest PvP set to collect. So far I have the gloves! When that gets boring? Well, there's reputation to grind for various rewards and don't forget world events and other achievement unlocks.

Warhammer was is many ways a better game than WoW, but when I got to PvE end game I was stuck at the stinky end of a never-ending PvP (sorry, RvR) grind that meant lots of raids. It was easy to get into the action in Warhammer and between RvR and dungeons I had most of the lesser ward and greater ward sets. The sad thing was, that was all there was. Sure, Warhammer had a VERY detailed achievement system that I could have explored, but WoW stole that just like it'll steal from every game that stole from it until it's got every cool feature its mean old-graphics self can handle.
