These otyughs have travelled a long way to eat your face.
Today Edie ate dirt. Here's what happened: I was sitting outside putting the wheels on Edie's new umbrella stroller (some stores aren't the place to bring a hiking frame with arms) and she was just wandering around drawing with her side-walk chalk. Then she grabbed a fist of gravel and earth from our little cactus garden (thanks, Mandevilles) and began chewing vigourously. I almost lost a few fingers extracting the gravel mixture. Edith wasn't angry or sad, she just wasn't helping. I had a good laugh throughout the whole affair. Later she grabbed a dung-filled nappy I had just taken off Frankie and unwrapped it. It was awesome.
I told Adam about all the dung. He reminded me that I was the doctor of dung. I agreed, adding, "I've got a PhD in diapers."
Kapiolani Community College Farmers Market again tomorrow morning. Looking forward to getting some more grass-fed beef and maitake mushrooms. Last week there was some nasty weather, so we didn't get to go. The commissary has some good food and lots of the same farmers have their wares for sale in the grocery department, but I prefer buying my stuff at the market. Also, there's no shave-ice at the commissary.
I bought Josh Laser Battle for his birthday. We played it today. Man, it was pretty fun. I think I'll nip out and get my own copy when I'm not all tapped out on nerd purchases (like miniatures, virtual Magic cards, RPG source books and Bluetooth GPSes). Perhaps sometime in the new year will be good.
